Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) offers high-quality and affordable LGBTQ Services to the group in a welcoming and open health care environment. We are committed to providing comprehensive health care services, including the full range of primary nurture and reproductive health services, as adv as connecting individuals with HIV or hepatitis to screenings and treatment, Gay Men’s Health Services including PrEP and PEP, Transgender Health Services, prenatal services and pediatric care and more.

We’re committed to serving our Lesbian, Queer , Bisexual, Transgender & Questioning/Queer+ (LGBTQ+) community, whom we acknowledge often face large-and small-scale marginalization, discrimination, despise, and many other hardships. We are here to help LGBTQ+ individuals functional through homelessness, hunger, unemployment, and mental illness access supportive services and fetch them the information they need for a happier, healthier life.

HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP)

PrEP is daily medicine for people who are HIV-negative, but are at very high risk of getting HIV that can prevent HIV infection. When taken daily, PrEP is highly effective for preventing HIV and work to keep the virus from establishing a permanent infection. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends PrEP for all individuals who are at high risk for HIV infection.

Open daily, the Center provides a wide variety of LGBTQIA+ programs and services including crisis counseling, individual and couple counseling, facilitated coming-out groups, and over a dozen LGBTQIA+ peer aid and rap groups each week. Access to mental health help, medications and more

LGBTQ+ communities face the alike everyday health concerns as everyone else. We all yearn to stay fit and receive the best care possible.

However, certain health issues disproportionately affect sapphic, gay, bisexual, trans person and queer individuals due largely to disparities in health care access and treatment.

Fewer doctor visits can lead to poorer health outcomes. Many health issues facing LGBTQ+ people are preventable or can be treated better if caught early. These contain HIV, STIs, cancer, and mental health issues.
