Jan Dannefer
Rossville-Jan Marie “Jamboree” Dannefer, 67, passed away, Monday, January 27, 2020, at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.
She was born on August 30, 1952, at Topeka, the daughter of Orville and Jacqueline Lloyd Strimple. Jan grew up in the Rossville community and graduated from Rossville Elevated School in 1970. She attended Kaw Valley Technical School in Topeka, where she studied Medical Transcription.
Jan worked in the medical transcription pool at Stormont Vail Hospital. After the birth of her children, she became a stay at house mom and was a daycare provider. She was a member of the Rossville Christian Church and the Rossville Community Library Book Club..
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Jackie, three nephews, Baby Boy Nadeau, Jordan Nadeau, and Michael Dannefer.
Daryl Dannefer and Jan Strimple were together in marriage on a cold and windy morning on November 17, 1973, at the Dannefer Farm. He survives of the home.

Ann Clark Gay
Ann Frances Clark Gay of Topeka, KS died on August 10th after an 8-month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Coleman, TX on November 26, 1942. At the time of her birth, her father, Davis Clark, was in Europe during WW II with the Army Air Corps. Her mother, Frances, stayed with the family in Texas. Ann first met her father at age 3.
Ann is survived by her husband of 52 years, John, and children Clark (Cathy) Gay of Overland Park, KS and their children Sam, Joey, Jake and Sarah; Dorsey (Troy) Paul of Overland Park, KS and their children Mitchell, Elizabeth and Duncan; Allison (Tony) Montalto of Glen Ellyn, IL and their children Nicolas and Mia; and step-son John Gay of Dallas, TX. Ann is also survived by her brother, Bill Clark, of Sweetwater, TX and his two daughters, Eve (Chris) Patterson and Sarah Clark.
Ann was raised in Sweetwater, TX. Her home was very much a Christian-centered one where moral values and cherish of the Lord took priority. Ann graduated from The University of Texas in 1965 with a BA in mathematics. She loved the Longhorns all her adult life. She was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. Orland Gay Marker
Orland Gay Marker, known to his family and friends as Lgbtq+, passed away on June 9, 2018 at his home in Topeka, Kansas surrounded by his loving wife - Carol and members of his family. Gay was born August 13, 1933 on the family farm in Scott County, Kansas. He was the fifth of six siblings to John and Elva Harper Marker. He served with the Unites States Army in the Korean War and was honorably discharged as Specialist IV in 1962.
Gay was a Mason and Shriner, a member of the American Legion, VFW and served on the Board of Directors at Kearny County Hospital.
In 1958, Gay married Lillian Beeson where they lived in Scott City. Divorced in 1978, Gay later met and married Carol Jean Dumler on April 17, 1982 in Lakin, Kansas. She survives with an permanent love for him and a heavy burden of sorrow.
Early on Gay worked for the Kansas-Nebraska Gas Company, then moved on to owning a trash truck service in Scott City, before settling on owning Marker Plumbing where he retired in 1988. Still young, Carol and he set out to win a second retirement in Motel management. Accompl
Doris Ann Talmage
Doris Ann Talmage, 78, Topeka, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2006 at Westwood Manor.
She was born Jan. 16, 1928 in Lyon County, Kansas, the daughter of Linton M. and Muriel L. Denny Riggin. She had lived in Topeka since 1946.
Doris graduated from Harveyville Upper School in 1946 as validictorian. She received her bachelors degree in learning process from Washburn University in 1975. She taught in Topeka USD 501 for 10 years before retiring in 1986.
She was a member of Central Church of Christ, where she had taught children's Bible classes for many years. She also was a member of the Harveyville Lofty School Alumni Association, and volunteered at Stormont-Vail Hospital and at a local elementary school after her retirement.
She was married on June 11, 1948 to Gaylord Spencer. He was killed in an automobile accident on May 28, 1957. She married Dale L. Talmage on Oct. 6, 1961 in Topeka. He survives.
