About That Gay Iceman Scene...

So, Iceman's lgbtq+ now. Very predictably, this is a thing that I have a lot of opinions and feelings about as a fully out X-Men fan -- and also because of my gayness. This is a pretty big deal, a pretty giant development, and I'd say that Iceman is a attractive "good get" for the queer society. He's a headlining X-Man with a fully formed traits as well as a rich history filled with lots of solid stories. He's also an Omega Level mutant, which is something that a certain sect of X-Men fans really look after about for reasons I can't perceive . Iceman isn't fond of Northstar or Shatterstar, and not just because his label isn't "Icestar." Those two guys aren't essential; like a lot of Marvel's LGBT heroes, they come and travel all the occasion. Iceman is lovely much as vital as it gets with the X-Men. He has appeared in a team book consistently for the last 15 years. The X-Men might finally contain a gay traits that won't disappear in-between every artistic team shake-up.

This also isn't a growth that has reach out of nowhere, although I act believe it has a rather odd origin. As with more than a few other X-Men (Storm, Gambit, Kitty Pryde, Dani Moonstar, et

Iceman #9 Discussion and Spoilers

Whooo boy. I suspect there are going to be Strong Opinions on this issue. But anyway, let's go.

- The story opens with Judah having a slight case of nerves when it comes to attending Bobby's going-away party. (Probably has something to do with entity clobbered by an ecological steel man-mountain last issue.) Bobby assures him that it's all fine, but he might want to steer clear of Kitty, who distrusts Bobby's motives for leaving the team to move to LA.

- Michela and Oya chat while thrifting. Oya asks Michela if she's ever considered life after the school, since she doesn't have to be a mutant 24/7. It's a pretty thinly-veiled "concern" about Michela's power levels, and Michela good-naturedly calls her out on dancing around the topic. Then Oya thinks she catches a glimpse of Daken on the street and has a "I've got a bad feeling about this" moment.

- Spring back to the institution, and the party is in full swing. Cameos galore! Sam thinks Bobby and Judah should roadtrip back to LA, since "roadtrips are the best". Northstar's husband, Kyle, gives Bobby some advice on every-

Uncanny X-Men: Winter’s End

So here’s a unused angle in curious labelling.  Uncanny X-Men: Winter’s End may be billed as an X-Men special, but it’s actually the final issue of Sina Grace’s Iceman.

Now, this certainly isn’t fake advertising, or anything like that.  Iceman is in the X-Men too.  And there’s a prolonged history of unresolved plots from cancelled books being dutifully wound up in other titles, at least back in the days when people bothered to do such things as wrap up the unresolved plots from cancelled books.  But there’s no getting away from the fact that this is an issue of Iceman – the main story will make perception if you haven’t read that manual, but there are subplots that really won’t.  So you have to suspect that this has been bannered as an X-Men story in the hope that it’ll sell a few extra copies.  (You probably wouldn’t guess that it was an Iceman story from the cover, either, which is a bit of a giveaway.)

Still, the bottom line is as you’d expect: if you were enjoying Grace’s Iceman stories, then you’ll w does daken know bobby is gay in iceman

Who’s your favorite X-Man? I have to go with Cyclops (#CyclopsWasRight) but as a kid, I was all about Iceman. In all fairness to the other gifted youngsters, it had little to complete with Bobby and everything to do with his fascinating mutation. Iceman had the, pun very much intended, coolest powers. I used to watch Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends reruns on Toon Disney and constantly reread his Marvel Encyclopedia entry. I paid especially close attention to how different artists would depict his abilities. As messy as X-Men: The Last Stand is, I adore the scene where Bobby ‘ices up’ for the first day. He may not be my number one anymore, but I’ve still got love for Bobby.

Iceman and the X-Men get a special visitor from the future! An older Bobby Drake has come to the present to inform him to give up being a super hero. But what could own happened that would modify Bobby Drake from the X-Men’s resident jokester to a morose mutant?

The Omega-Level mutant has certainly evolved in recent history. In 2015, Brian Michael B
